The oldest form of recording chart rolls are still in widespread use throughout the world. As with all charts the accuracy of the final record relies upon the accuracy of the print and its precise registration to the paper and the drive holes. After being printed onto large rolls the individual chart has to be rewound onto the small spool for use in a recorder. It is at this stage that an end-warning line will be printed, usually in red, to warn of the approaching end of the roll. All Crown Graphic charts are labeled to indicate the re-order code, batch number and date of production for quality assurance record purposes.
